"Integral Walking" Workshop

"Integral Walking" Description
Walking is the most primary and basic movement pattern that human beings have. It has been refined as our species has evolved, and continues to change as we do. Although walking is one of the simplest movement skills, it can store many layers of compensation and excess information, inhibiting our optimal experience. The objective of Integral Walking is to help individuals recognize their patterns through mindfulness and movement experiences, and identify ways of promoting harmonious change, thereby ‘cleansing’ habits that are no longer efficient. In this heart-friendly approach, we will offer unique ways to engage the body/mind connection, and gather tools that help us restore our balance on the fly.

Movement Lab - Layer down!

Here's another way to go deep into your experience. (see video)
But if you notice something strange when you return from your experience (like the coyote did)
It was because you missed the landmarks on the way back!

Write your Experiences & Move your feelings

Sunday at Body
Was a journey toward the labyrinth
The labyrinth called "past"
How can you write about the past and not get lost?
Use the cord like Theseus did.
The Golden Cord
Go! Write your experiences and return safely
Grounded
Grounded and safe

"Recycling" Movement Patterns

Layering is a good way to do that.
1-You experience a particular movement or sequence
Be mindful of what is happening as you do the movement. Here's a question to ask for yourself: What's your mind process during and after the exploration? If is a sort of mind resistance, that's fine. Move on to the next.
2- Repeat the same movement or sequence, slower... Please, time is the key!
Be mindful in what is NEW in your experience, compare with no. 1. (maybe write down, if you like)
3- Repeat the sequence again. Now be more involved, connected with every moment of the movement, identify colors, textures, images, emotions, sensations, etc. Honor every change, even if you mind thinks: "Ah, it's nothing!!"
If you could expend more time focusing or tasting the NEW experience, you were exactly by the gateway for a new pattern to be establish. Dive In, moving on, stay as long you want and enjoy!!
